Save Pakenham Scout Hall

Community, Pakenham, VIC, Australia

Pakenham Scout Hall - hopefully to be Heritage Listed - help us save our iconic building.

The land was donated by Mr Thompson in 1931 and the fireplace was built from a donation of granite rocks rejects chipped off from the stones used for the Shrine of Remembrance in Melbourne. It is still used as a scout hall today and is only one of a couple that still remain in Victoria built this way. One only has to look at this building and instantly you recognise it as a Scout Hall. Pakenham has done away with the majority of older buildings that date back to the early 1900's and we are fighting to save this one.
